About the Job
Selectek has an immediate need for an Application Engineer to join our team in Katy, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for working with the engineers, project managers, designers, and clients to manage the data and create the bill of material to ensure projects are met.

- Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start-up and certification.
- Designing, running, testing, and upgrading systems and processes.
- Provide process documentation and operating instruction.
- Assists with accurate cost-estimating services for incoming quotes regarding pressure vessels, piping, skids, controls, measurements, and instrumentations.
- Work with the process engineer to provide a completely mechanical design for vessels and piping systems, which design engineers can then model and draft.
- Perform piping and vessel system component selection based on P&ID and customer specification sheets.
- Conduct material take-offs (MTOs) from customer-supplied or internally created models and drawings.
- Liaise with project managers and design engineers and assist in interpreting project and product requirements.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Work with the Project Engineer to refine and revise process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and design drawings.
- Develop valve and instrument lists based on the PFD and P&ID; create long lead items lists.
- Work with the Supply Chain team for specification and procurement of long lead time items.
- Organize the approval process of engineering documentation required between departments (Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and the Customer).
- Provide estimating support for RFQ / Proposals, working closely with Sales and Project. Management departments to ensure the technical aspects of the estimate are accurate.
- Mechanical Engineering degree preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and organization skills (written and verbal)
- Self-starter that demonstrates initiative; ability to take direction and act independently.
- Ability to effectively apply industry codes and standards (ASME, B31.3 piping, AWS, API, ASTM, NACE, OSHA, etc.)
- Knowledge of piping and pipe schedules, flanges, and fittings.
- Knowledge of valves and instruments used in oilfield production equipment.
- Knowledge of industry ASME design standards (encouraged)
- Working knowledge and applied experience of NACE MR0175
- Monday- Friday
- 8 AM- 5 PM

- $90K- $110K
