About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to design, support, and develop custom industrial heat exchangers. This role involves ASME-compliant design, utilizing SolidWorks for detailed engineering, and creating tools to streamline processes. The position requires customer interaction, collaboration with internal teams, and a commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. Ideal candidates will have a degree in engineering (or equivalent experience), expertise in heat transfer or fluid dynamics, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in SolidWorks, and the ability to work independently are essential.

- Engineering and support related to the sales and service of custom industrial heat exchangers.
- ASME design and documentation to support specific projects.
- Responsible for the ongoing development and support of programs to support the company's engineering and design needs.
- Actively demonstrate and promote company values and a positive and professional work environment.
- Engineer product designs to meet customer specifications and company standards, prepare and present equipment proposals and obtain customer approval.
- Utilize Solid Works software to produce highly detailed engineering designs from drawings, sketches, and/or written descriptions to meet design requirements and customer specifications.
- Provide specifications to design drafter.
- Develop tools (databases, applications, etc.) to support and automate basic engineering functions.
- Maintain company safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity standards.
- Regular interaction with customers, internal departments, shop personnel, and external vendors.
Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in engineering with an emphasis, or applicable work background, in heat transfer or fluid dynamics. Or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to this job including but not limited to
- Microsoft Office and various heat transfer software applications.
- Working knowledge of Solid Works design and analysis tools.
- Possesses strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to accurately measure objects using hand-held measuring tools.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment; on a semi-regular basis, work will be performed in the shop or at a customer’s facility.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The position requires the significant use of a computer monitor.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk.
- Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
