We are seeking a dynamic and experienced engineer to join our team.  As a key member of our development team, you will contribute by focusing on edge routing functionality and session authorization. Responsibilities include application development, delivering high quality code and performing code reviews. Ideal candidates have expertise in building RestfulAPI's using Springboot and Java and deploying workloads to Kubernetes/Openshift Container Platform (OCP). You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities 

• Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features with high quality (security, reliability, operations) to production 

• Tends to Associate Application Engineers by providing learning tasks as well as work related tasks, directs the work of Senior Associate Application Engineers, and helps them continue to grow 

• Achieves team commitments (and influence others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skills 

• Has an oversight on design decisions and guides team to achieve key results for products assigned to them 

• Remediates issues using engineering principles and creates proactive design solutions for potential failures 

• Contributes to and leads technology communities at Discover 

Minimum Qualifications 

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you: 

• Bachelors – Computer Science or related 

• 3+ Years – Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related 

• Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale 

Preferred Qualifications 

Bonus Points If You Have: 

• Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud

• Experience in the containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and Openshift Container Platform (OCP)

• Experience using in cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP

• Automation mindset as it pertains to testing and build/deploy concepts

• CI/CD Pipeline experience via Jenkins and Github Actions

• Tech stack includes: Java, Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud) , Restful API’s, Micro services, Kubernetes/Docker, Jenkins, Openshift Container Platform (OCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Datadog APM, Gatling/ Jmeter, Github
