Application Development/Maintenance, Vice President - State Street

We are looking for a strong engineer to join our Data Engineering team.

• You will actively participate in technology decision making.

• You will design and build interactive metadata retrieval and visualization systems to establish, maintain and update ontologies, taxonomies, and other data models.

• You will assist in the implementation and support of metadata governance strategies and processes.

• You will work on the continuous improvement of metadata workflows and practices that support the description, discovery, and linking of data collections and objects.

• You will diagnose, debug, and correct problems in live infrastructure, some of which supports our production clients.

• You will work with other members of your team to investigate feature requests, perform detailed analysis and create specifications (where required), implement, and test new functionality.

• You will support a follow-the-sun operations approach working with colleagues across three continents.

• You will work in a truly agile way, all the way down to using agile infrastructure techniques.

• You will interact with your peers across the transformation effort across all teams to ensure that best practices are followed throughout the organization.

• You will leverage frameworks, tools & automation to ensure quality software deliveries.

Requirements

Successful candidates will have:

• Bachelors degree and 5 years of engineering experience.

• Python/Java and SQL development experience.

• Strong Data modeling and design experience

• Good working knowledge of modern distributed systems and infrastructure engineering.

• Have the ability to communicate effectively in English both writing and speaking, and the ability to communicate technical subjects effectively through diagramming.

• Appreciate the value diversity (in all its forms) brings to our team and company.

• Penchant to learn about new technology innovation and creativity in applying to business problems.

• Experience working in a financial services environment is a big plus.

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $185,000 Annual
