The Appeals Clerk will be responsible for performing administrative duties, such as maintaining filing systems, answering phones, and responding to emails. They will assist the Appeals Team by collecting and organizing documentation from medical records departments. They will keep track and maintain documentation from the beginning of the appeals process to the end, following up with facilities and payor entities as needed. The Appeals Clerk will conduct phone calls to Medicare for appeals status inquiries and act as a liaison between the facilities and the Appleals Team.
Requirements for an Appeals Clerk:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Self-motivated and goal orientated
· Proficient computer skills required, experience with MS Word and Excel
· Great organizational and multi-tasking skills
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Available during work hours of 9am -5pm
