Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities
Provides clinical care for patients while they are in the hospital.
Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
Refers for specialty care when determined.
Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
Works with primary care team for program development.
Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Excellian, our EMR, is a software product from Epic and is considered one of the most comprehensive systems in the nation.

Job Requirements
Master's degree Completion of accredited Physician Assistant or accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or CNP through ANCC
Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges
ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - required within 180 Days
One year of experience as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner preferred
Owatonna Hospital, located south of the Twin Cities, offers inpatient and outpatient orthopedic, general, urology, plastic, ENT and ophthalmologic surgical services; inpatient mental health; birthing center; emergency medicine; and rehabilitation services through Courage Kenny Rehabilitation InstituteTM. With 331 employees, 163 physicians and 43 staffed beds, Owatonna Hospital serves approximately 42,000 inpatients and outpatients annually. The hospital is connected to Mayo Clinic Health System Owatonna and Koda Living Community, an 80-bed long- and short-term care facility.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $127,174 to $159,420 per year
The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
