The OpportunityThis is an excellent opportunity for a motivated senior API engineer with a passion to learn new technologies and lead delivery scrum teams.
You will work with fellow engineers and enterprise stakeholders to develop API’s for the various data driven systems we have to help us transform the insurance industry.The TeamThe API Delivery team is a global team comprised of a diverse group of engineers.

The applicant must possess a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including database fundamentals and web-based API’s enabling business applications and usage at scale.Design and develop API’s using REST, in Python, Node.js, and Java to provide data integration functionality for the diverse financial and life insurance dataWork with the different company business units to map and integrate disparate data from a variety of source systems using API microservices patternWork closely with a team of highly skilled data and API engineers to help connect and integrate webservices across the enterpriseMentor and guide the development efforts of other team membersBe self-supportive in collaborating with your peers to effectively deliver robust solutions for the businessWrite tested, robust code that can be quickly moved into productionWork seamlessly in an agile environment with engineers, product managers, business analysts, and designers to understand end-user requirementsSupport-what-you-build, including monitoring, performance tuning, and responding to incidentsThe Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in computer science, engineering or related technical field8+ years of experience with application development, including API, testing, and automation experience using at least one of the following languages – Python, Java, JavaScript5+ years of experience in writing SQL3+ years of experience with Cloud Technologies, preferably AWSThe Ideal QualificationsMaster’s degree in computer science or engineering.Advanced proficiency in Node.jsAdvanced Database design and administrationExperience with the following:Spring FrameworkApplication security best practicesSoftware and system architectureDesign and prototypingOpen source web application frameworks (Node.js / Play etc.)Unit test frameworks (scala test / mocha / junit / jasmine etc.)Developing RESTful APIs and API Gateway integration (Kong / Apigee etc.)Continuous integration server(s) (Jenkins / TeamCity / GoCD etc.) and continuous deploymentsExperience working in an agile environment and collaborating with the team to solve technical challenges using rapid and iterative developmentSuperior communication skills with the ability to work directly with business partnersWhat to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the TeamRegular collaboration with the API Delivery teamFocused one-on-one time with your managerAccess to mentorship opportunitiesNetworking opportunities including access to Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, African American, women, LGBTQIA+, veteran and disability-focused Business Resource GroupsAccess to learning content on Degreed and other informational platformsYour ethics and integrity will be valued by a company with a strong and stable ethical business with industry leading pay and benefits#LI-RK1Salary Range:$144,800.00-$190,000.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees.
