We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our finance team.
Job Description:
As an Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing our company's invoices, ensuring the accurate and timely payment to vendors, and maintaining clear financial records. You will be a key player in supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify invoices for goods and services, ensuring proper coding and approval in line with company policies.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of payments and outstanding invoices.
- Assist in preparing reports for management, including payment forecasts and aging reports.
- Handle vendor inquiries and manage relationships by addressing payment concerns and providing solutions.
- Prepare and process payment runs, ensuring all payments are made on time.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and finance, to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
- Provide support for audits and other finance-related activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience 3-5 yrs in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, vendor management, and financial transactions.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma required; a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, including tax compliance (e.g., 1099 reporting), is preferred.

- Salary: $26-$32 an hour
