Position Overview:
An organization with over 100 locations is actively seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to support its accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, coachable, and innovative in their approach to problem-solving. With a high volume of multi-location transactions, the AP Specialist will work closely with senior team members, adapting to a “learn as you go” environment with guidance from senior accountants and the controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, audit, and verify invoices against purchase orders (three-way match)
- Code and submit approved invoices for payment, maintaining accuracy in records and documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements, ensuring prompt resolution of any discrepancies
- Input and maintain vendor data within the accounting system, ensuring data integrity
- Manage email correspondence related to accounts payable, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate effectively with internal partners and vendors to resolve issues and answer queries
- Ensure accurate data entry across all AP tasks, maintaining high attention to detail
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to think outside the box and solve unique challenges
- Coachable and open to feedback in a collaborative setting
- Experience with AP in a multi-location environment is preferred
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct and Excel is a plus
- Work Environment: Fully on-site
- Training: Hands-on training with senior accounting staff and an open-door policy for questions

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
