Position Overview:QinetiQ US looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting
Team.
The ideal candidate would be deadline driven, detail oriented and organized. Someone that is self motivated with the ability to adapt and provide our customers with effective and remarkable service.
Responsibilities:- Day to Day processing of accounts payable invoices in CostPoint. Ensuring timely and accurate input of all data into the system. Including but not limited to:
- Daily processing of invoices with Purchase Orders using a 2 & 3-Way match
- Daily processing of indirect invoices as an AP Voucher
- Reconciliation of P-Cards, ensuring that all transactions made using a procurement card are legitimate, accurate, and authorized.
- Following up on assigned work tickets to ensure timely completion of all inquiries.
- Establish & maintain a working relationship with a teams across QinetiQ such as the procurement team to assist and resolve all Accounts Payable issues.
- Maintaining the documented A/P best practices, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending changes to senior management.
- Ensuring compliance to company and external requirements and liaison with auditors on AP issues.
- Maintaining relationships and providing timely responses to all information requests internally and to external customers (vendors); Proactively research resolutions for vendor inquiries, with a special focus on determining root cause of problems and offering viable solutions.
- Support General Ledger Manager in month end closing procedures. Ensuring all deadlines are met and that all payables are entered and are accurately recorded.
- Assist senior management in ad hoc projects involving reconciliations, analysis and research as needed.
- Necessary reconciliations.
- Various other tasks as assigned.
- At least 5 years of Accounts Payable experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience for Government Contractors.
- Understanding of the full accounts payable process, including – invoice processing, expense report processing, vendor file management (hard copy & electronic), check run/ach payments, subcontractor payables, etc.
- Firm grasp on Government Contracting, specifically knowledge of direct v. indirect costs and some knowledge of the JFTR for expense report review.
- Candidate must be an organized individual who can multi-task.
- Candidate must be a self-starter and team player who is ready to take on new initiatives and innovations in a fast-paced environment.
