AOI Inspector (2nd Shift)

Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm
Temp-to-Hire | Pay: $21-$24 per hour
We have an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Inspector to join our team in Brea, CA. The AOI Inspector Level 1 performs visual, electrical, and dimensional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). This role ensures compliance with manufacturing travelers, engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), process-specific instructions, critical criteria, and industry standards (IPC-610, J-STD-001, Class 2).
Responsibilities:

Set up and operate 2D AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) machines.

Perform visual and dimensional inspections of PCBAs to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, process specifications, industry standards, and customer-specific criteria.

Use precision measuring instruments such as smart tweezers, calipers, and pin gauges to ensure adherence to electrical and dimensional specifications.

Communicate defects not captured by equipment to responsible personnel for program integrity enhancement.

Notify assembly operators of defects noted during AOI operations for quick corrections.

Perform and record first article inspections and in-process inspections, inputting data into the associated database.

Properly handle and dispose of all waste, including hazardous waste, while maintaining a clean work area.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing or a similar industry.

Knowledge of Automated Optical Inspection equipment and procedures.

1 year of experience in a regulated industry such as ISO9001, AS9100, or ISO13485.

Ability to read blueprints, drawings, specifications, and PCB Gerbers.

Skilled in electrically measuring resistors and capacitors.

Expertise in reading component values by inspecting parts.
