Animal Care Technician - Zachary Piper LLC

Piper Companies is seeking an Animal Care Technician in Philadelphia, PA to work for a leading academic institution in Philadelphia.

Responsibilities for the Animal Care Technician include:

•  Perform daily Animal husbandry duties such as health check, cage changing, and waste disposal
• Manage laboratory sanitation and environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature
• Assist in basic veterinary care for animals housed within the vivarium  
• Oversee vivarium supplies and resources
• Provide support to rodent breeding colonies
• Maintain logs and research documentation in accordance with company standards

Qualifications for the Animal Care Technician include:

• Minimum of 1 year of animal husbandry
• Technical experience with animal breeding, tissue sampling, harvesting, collection, and rodent mouse models
• HS Diploma or BS in biology related field required
• American Association of Laboratory Animal Sciences certification at the ALAT level preferred

Compensation for the Animal Care Technician include:

•  Salary Range is $20.00-$22.00/hr
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Sick Leave if required by law
