Seeking an Animal Care Project Trainer
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-4pm, Non-Exempt (hourly) role
Starting at $20/hour & $1,000 sign on bonus
Carry out classroom based and hands on lessons following an animal science based curriculum. Applicant should have a strong
knowledge base of science related subject matter and practical application of the skills
Provides routine care of animals inclduing feeding, cleaning, sanitizing kennels, medication adminstration if needed and overall
upkeep of the kennel and connected classroom. Provision of enrichment for the animals during the school day. Students can support
the hands on applications under the direction of the Animal Education Program Leader.
The Animal Education Program will teach students the pre-cursor skills for success in the animal field including basic animal care,
behavior assessment tactics, safe handling, basic obedience concepts, and overall proper maintanence of a kennel environment.In
addition, the AEPL will plan relevant field trips to fortify the student’s learned skills and to broaden their view of available career
opportunities.
AEPL would have a willingness to develop and grow the program and connected curricula with expertise and creativity to ensure the
best level of success for the students and the animals in our care.
Our beautiful location brings together students who live on campus with students who are living at home in the local communities. Though most of our students come from MA, we have students and staff who came from many other states and several countries. This position is located on site in Rutland, MA.

Qualifications:Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid Drivers License
- High School diploma or GED required, Bachelors degree in animals or biology preferred.
- 3-5 years of direct animal related care, handling, training, dog daycare, kennel work or grooming (canines, small animals, small-farm animals) within a structured business setting required.
- Veterinary technician experience, identifying animal related behavioral and medical issues preferred
- 2+ years experience working with youth populations within Special Education environments preferred
