Anesthesiology Physician at Curative

We are seeking Anesthesia MDs to join our highly skilled anesthesia teams for two of our Hospital Sites in South Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Anesthesia MDs who are passionate about providing high-quality anesthesia care in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Whether you're interested in OB anesthesia, general surgery, or specialized cases, both hospitals provide a diverse case mix and the opportunity to work alongside CRNAs and surgical teams.

Practice Setting:

• Hospital Site 1: You will be part of a team administering anesthesia for OB procedures (epidurals, spinals for C-sections) and routine surgical cases, including general surgery and orthopedics. The facility includes 4 ORs and 2 endoscopy rooms.
• Hospital Site 2: You will be responsible for overseeing CRNAs and providing anesthesia for a wide range of surgeries, including OB anesthesia, spine, ortho, GI, and limited pediatrics. The hospital has 6 ORs, and you'll be involved in complex cases and backup during call periods.

Responsibilities:

• Administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical specialties, including OB anesthesia (epidurals, spinals for C-sections), general surgery, spine, ortho, GI, and others.
• Collaborate closely with CRNAs, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Supervise and assist CRNAs in their anesthesia administration, especially for more complex cases or after-hours.
• Provide leadership during call-back situations and emergencies, particularly in late hours or complex surgeries.
• Ensure the safe management of patients through preoperative assessments and intraoperative care.
• Maintain patient safety and optimal anesthesia management throughout surgical procedures.

Schedule:

• Hospital Site 1: Flexible scheduling with 1 week each month, starting in March 2025. Day shift and call coverage (rare call-back volume). Shifts will include call responsibility during non-surgical hours.
• Hospital Site 2: Full-time, with 7 shifts per week (Monday to Sunday). Day shifts from 7 am to 5 pm, with potential for late shifts and call-back responsibilities after CRNA shifts.

Call Requirements:

• Hospital Site 1: Evening and night call coverage after the day s surgical schedule concludes. Call-back volume is rare.
• Hospital Site 2: No in-house call for Anesthesia MDs. CRNAs handle call shifts, but MDs will be available for callbacks as needed. The call-back volume is approximately 20-30%.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified Anesthesiologist with active state licensure.
• Experience in OB anesthesia, as well as general anesthesia.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of CRNAs, surgeons, and medical staff.
• Hospital Site 1: Experience with OB anesthesia (epidurals, spinals for C-sections) is essential.
• Hospital Site 2: Experience with a variety of surgical specialties (spine, ortho, GI, etc.) is preferred.

Support Staff:

• Work alongside a skilled team of CRNAs, operating room nurses, surgical techs, and other support staff to deliver exceptional patient care.
