Position: Full-Time Anesthesia Technician

Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment used intraoperatively.
- Trains, mentors, and orients Anesthesia Associates or Anesthesia Students as needed
- Draw blood samples from existing intravascular lines.
- Maintain personal growth and development by participating in the in-service and continuing education programs.
- Maintain statistics as requested to support quality initiatives, reporting responsibilities, focus studies, and operational analysis.
- Input daily charging information into SMS for hospital technical billing purposes.
- Perform and evaluate thromboelastrographs (TEG).
- Operate rapid infusion pump system (RIS).
- Assist with the evaluation of new equipment and supplies. Adhere to UPMC policy when arranging for an evaluation
- Performs all responsibilities of Anesthesia Technician
- Participate in the department equipment management program according to program guidelines.
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience as an anesthesia technician or emergency/medical or related experience required or Graduate from an accredited Anesthesia Tech school or program required
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) or ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T. T.) preferred
