Anesthesia Technician, Operating Room, Full Time, Flexible Shift (SIGN ON BONUS) - Steward Health Care

Position Summary:

Provides technical assistance and administrative coordination to ensure quality anesthesia services and optimal patient outcomes under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists anesthesiologists with induction, spinal, and epidural anesthesia. Stocking anesthesia supplies in OR's, carts, and supply rooms. Carry's out environmental sanitation, equipment cleaning and stocking, maintenance, and storage functions within the Operating Room areas. Assists with the transport and/or positioning of patients. Transportation of specimens to the clinical laboratory and pathology. Works flexible hours and is on call nights, weekends, and holidays. May need to work beyond the regular tour of duty as assigned by the Department Head or Nursing Supervisor.

Position Qualification:

• BLS certification from the American Red Cross
• High School diploma preferred; at least six months to a year as hospital/OR orderly.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language.
• Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition and assist with varied operative procedures and surgeon's verbal directives.
• Ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environment.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• BLS certification from the American Red Cross
