We are currently seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our world-renowned team at our NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia Medical Center.Your work area will include four amazing new operating rooms, each featuring video-conference networking for an optimal learning and treatment environment. Two suites include Seimens’ new Artis Zeego robotic c-arm scanners, a revolutionary new tool in surgical care found at only four hospitals nationwide. Essential Job Duties

• Provides approved assistance to Anesthesiologists / CRNA’s during the induction, maintenance and emergence from Anesthesia.

• Assists the anesthesiologists/ CRNA’s with the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.

• Maintains on a daily and case to case basis, the equipment and supplies necessary to provide quality and cost effective anesthesia care to all patients cared for by the Anesthesia Department.

• Applies principles of infection control and safety, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment or supplies used in regular and contaminated cases.

• Sets up sterile equipment, such as intravenous, central venous, arterial and pulmonary artery catheters using sterile technique.

• Sets up, operates, and disassembles cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned.

• Performs all standard procedural checks on equipment; reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.

• Ensures the sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment, including TEE’s, fiber optic scopes and LMA’s.

• Ensures workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during and after each shift.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

This is a full-time, evening position located at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia Medical Center. Work schedule:Monday - Friday, 2pm-10pm.

Preferred Criteria

• Certification by American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED

• Minimum one year of experience as an anesthesia tech

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
