Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the direction of the OSG Director of Analytics and Insights, provides financial and operational analytics and insight, demonstrating resourcefulness in data gathering and reporting for multiple service lines at various stages of development as well as additional corporate stakeholders. Partners with financial, operational, and clinical leadership in expanding services lines and support operations including, but not limited to: Benchmarking projects, Behavioral Health, Orthopedics, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Physician Sales, Surgical Services, Pediatrics, Cardiovascular, and Robotic Surgery.
General Responsibilities:
- Serves as point of contact for designated OSG Service Line leaders, leading development of analytics to be used in identifying issues and risks, collecting information for enterprise decision-making, and providing value-added services to the service lines. Ensures that program information necessary for enterprise decision-making for OSG Service Lines leaders is accurate and timely.
- Serves as point of contact for Senior Leadership on development and maintenance of benchmarking efforts.
- Proactively identifying strategic opportunities for OSG’s expanding service lines through data and analytics.
- Managing development, and day to day activities of, OSG financial analysts in collaboration with VP.
- Participates in the roll out of service line strategic initiatives in collaboration with service line teams based on identified opportunities
- Contributes to the development, testing and implementation of financial data collection and measurement tools, by combining internal and external data that effectively drives the company’s service lines strategies while identifying and creating automation opportunities to increase reporting efficiencies, leading this effort at times.
- Develops and guides OSG Service Lines monthly reporting and senior management summaries preparation along with supporting financial and operational models
- Supports OSG VP, Analytics and Insights in project financial analyses and ad hoc reporting that support service lines long and short-term strategic projects.
- Provides input to decision makers where changes in operational processes may data and/or reporting implications.
- Takes leadership role in training OSG stakeholders on newly developed analytical products
Must Have:
- 3-7 Years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree (MBA Preferred)
- Knowledge of data collection techniques and interpretation.
Familiarity with healthcare operations and finance
- Familiarity with clinical coding and its use to define patient populations
- SQL coding expertise required
- Familiarity with modern BI platforms and ability to quickly generate meaningful analyses using these tools
- Can navigate HCA’s financial and analytical reporting systems.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and stakeholders, keeping each audience informed of project status and deliverable completion
- Knowledge of descriptive statistics to analyze statistical data and prepare estimates.
- Skill in examining documents, reports and stats for accuracy and interpreting the accuracy.
- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
- Expertise in written and verbal communication required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required
