Key Responsibilities:
+ Independently implement data management systems such as merging, cleaning, querying, and quality checks of complex and messy data from various platforms.
+ Independently develop and conduct statistical analysis plans for a variety of tobacco, marijuana and occupational health projects.
+ Independently conduct literature reviews on various topics related to tobacco, marijuana and occupational health.
+ Weighting and sampling design for survey data collection.
+ Preparation of statistical methods and results sections of publishable quality.
+ Analysis of program data for integrating with program evaluation and improving program design.
+ Prepare and deliver research presentations, documents, and monthly progress reports.
+ Assist with preparing grant applications, grant renewals and performance reviews.
+ Communicate in written and verbal forms to statisticians and non- statisticians.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ A Bachelor's degree in Biostatisics or related area.
+ 1-2 years of relevant experience.
+ Introductory coursework in statistics and/or epidemiology.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A Master's degree or a current Master's student in Biostatistics or related area of graduate level training at the start date of the position.
+ Demonstrated ability to successfully contribute to the data management and analysis of multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Familiarity with survey design, weighted data, sampling methods.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of tobacco, marijuana and occupational health principles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience with management of large data sets, quality control, and data manipulation techniques using SAS or R.
+ Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience of basic statistical analysis principles relevant in tobacco, marijuana and occupational health research and their application using statistical software (e.g., SAS or R).
+ Ability to analyze and solve complex data problems.
+ Competency with REDCap and other relational databases.
+ Experience creating databases from multiple data sources.
+ Experience with linkage of datasets.
+ Familiarity with datasets collected for the purposes of studying tobacco, marijuana and occupational health.
+ Good organizational skills across multiple projects, managing own workload, self-directed.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Positive attitude and the ability to work with a variety of investigators and colleagues.

The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH), and the Centers for Health Work and Environment (CHWE) have an opening for a full-time position (1.0 FTE) at the rank of Professional Research Assistant (PRA) - Level 2. In this position the PRA Level 2 will develop and implement data management and data cleaning protocols, data analysis plans, execute data analyses, contribute to the writing of grants and publications, and provide statistical consultation to students, faculty, and staff. They will work with a variety of complex data systems including relational databases and complex datasets such as survey data. In addition, they will provide study design and analytical support for survey design or longitudinal studies. The PRA Level 2 will work closely with other master and doctoral trained biostatisticians. Over time, this individual is expected to work more independently and on more advanced data management and analytical challenges. The desire to learn continuously and try new approaches are key features of a PRA Level 2. The incumbent will be part of a multi-disciplinary team under the leadership of Dr. Katherine James. The incumbent will work closely with faculty and staff within the Centers for Health Work and Environment and the Community Epidemiology and Program Evaluation Group (CEPEG) within the broader CU Anschutz community. This position will provide analytic and data science and management support for projects in both CHWE and CEPEG. Examples of work performed can include:
