Location: Ada, MI (Onsite or Hybrid)
What's special about this team: Our global team leads Consumer Research and Human Centered Design and is part of the Innovation & Science Division at Amway. On this team, you will be joining a group of key contributors that influence the future global Nutrition (including food & beverage), Beauty, Home Care, and Wellness Device products to create impactful solutions and drive product sales. The Product Experience & Insights team provides consumer insights and data to improve designs, enable sound decisions and consumer driven product development.
How would an intern contribute to the team's success: In this role you will be working on an impactful project supporting Product Development teams. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of PXI consumer and sensory research scientists and technicians to support consumer and sensory research initiatives in Nutrition, Beauty and Wellness Devices. Through this process, you will gain experience in designing and executing consumer product research studies, learn data analysis skills for interpreting complex datasets and understand insights we gather for our product development teams which enable them to create impactful solutions. As a part of this experience, you will also gain exposure to a variety of departments involved in the product development process here at Amway.
An example of a typical project would be: Working with PXI consumer research team members to develop a strategy for gathering consumer insights, developing a screener for panelist recruitment, participate in consumer interviews, oversee the execution of consumer product tests, complete data analysis and translate findings into recommendations or claims that can be shared with a product development team.
Required skills and background:
Desired Major: psychology, sociology/social science research, or behavioral sciences
Desired Class Year: Sophomore (2027 grad) or Junior (2028 grad)
Desired Skills:
Experience working with consumers (interviews/questionnaires) to understand their needs/beliefs and translating their feedback into actionable recommendations
Data analysis for interpreting complex data
Organized and detail oriented
Communicate effectively in oral, written and visual forms
