The Manager of Ambulatory Services reports to the Director of Ambulatory Services. Under limited supervision, the Manager of Ambulatory Services is responsible for overseeing the day to day clinic operations in a designated area within MUSC Health Ambulatory clinics. Assesses, plans, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical and operational functions of a nursing unit to ensure quality, cost effective health care is provided by an educated and competent team. Promotes a safe environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.

Job Description

Overview: The Manager of Ambulatory Services reports to the Director of Ambulatory Services. Under limited supervision, the Manager of Ambulatory Services is responsible for overseeing the day to day clinic operations in a designated area within MUSC Health Ambulatory clinics.  The Manager proactively assesses and implements appropriate processes to ensure that all facets of ambulatory clinic management are effectively addressed. The Manager works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure timely patient access to care, operational efficiency, practice optimization, fiscal integrity, and to foster the delivery of a quality patient care experience.

Education and Minimum Requirements: Bachelor degree in Nursing (BSN), and currently enrolled in Master's program from an accredited college/university. A minimum of five (5) years of nursing work experience required (three years of nursing experience and two years of supervisory experience). Credentials: Certification in specialty area preferred or completion within one year of eligibility strongly encouraged. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
