The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is offering an excellent career opportunity to fill one (1) Ambulatory Care Clinical Supervisor position within the Health Center located in Martinez CA.
The Ambulatory Care Clinical Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising professional and non-professional nursing staff, clerical staff, orthopedic technicians, and dental assistants; coordinating clinical services at Contra Costa County Health Centers in monitoring the quality of nursing care provided; and ensuring that nursing services and care meet all regulatory standards including Prepaid Health Plans (PHP), The Joint Commission (TJC), and Title 22. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to maintain professional working relationships with patients, employees, physicians, and co-workers.
The Ambulatory Care Clinical Supervisor is also responsible for designing and implementing policies to achieve and maintain goals that ensure the delivery of quality patient care and service excellence. Additionally, incumbents are also responsible for the development of a department quality improvement plan as well as the ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Programs.
We are looking for someone who:

- Effectively analyzes and prioritizes situations as they arise, responding to urgent requests in a timely manner despite frequent interruptions
- Accurately applies principles and practices of management, ambulatory care nursing standards and protocols, and county health services policies
- Acknowledges and respects cultural and linguistic differences of diverse populations
- Reviewing of policies, protocols, and standards for Ambulatory Care Nursing and Ancillary Services that are consistent with the departmental philosophy and Behavioral Health-Mental Health Services mission
- Interviewing, hiring, and evaluating subordinate staff
- Instructing licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel and ancillary staff
- Forecasting and ensuring daily staffing needs are met
- Working in collaboration with staff and providers to create an optimal workplace
