Job Description:
- The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire food and beverage operation
- Encompasses banquets, culinary and restaurant outlets;
- Establishing and maintaining quality product and service levels while maximizing profits; forecasting and budgeting; selecting, training and developing Team Members.
- You will also attend team huddle meetings, conduct departmental meetings, performance appraisals, and implement and maintain incentive programs.
- Responsibilities will include maintaining inventory control, menu development, community PR for the hotel, monitoring budget and maintaining high levels of Team Member satisfaction.
- Maintaining Food Costs and Managing Labor
- Maintaining Menu Development
- Supervise subordinates consistent with Marriott International Standards
- Coach and Counsel employees as needed via a corrective interview process
- Interview and hire front and back of the house F&B staff
- Take ownership, and be a proactive leader who is constantly looking for new and more effective ways of improving products, guest service, and profitability
- Work collaboratively with other department heads
Job requirements:
- Strong management skills; ability to appropriately assign/delegate work and authority to others in the accomplishment of goals; provides coaching, advice, and assistance as required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Maintains professional appearance and demeanor always
- Ability to manage difficult guest situations; responds promptly to guest needs, solicits guest feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance and meets commitments
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance
- Ability to show flexibility in response to change and adapt to and accommodate new methods and procedures
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- Ability to build and motivate team members at all levels, excellent communication and leadership skills are necessary to ensure the continued success of the hotel
- Exceptional leadership and team building skills and ability to develop people ·
- Strong skills in employee and guest service training
- Supports cook line, including food prep, as needed
Required Education / Certifications / Work/Industry Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related experience and/or training equivalent
- Hospitality or related industry experience
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope
- Previous cooking experience preferred
