• Shift = 1st shift (Mon-Thurs 6a-4:40p)

• Pay = $25-30

• Duration = 6 months+ (Temp to hire) 

As a Welder, your expertise in Aluminum Welding will be put to the test as you perform qualified welds with precision and efficiency on large fleet maritime vessels. Previous shipyard/welding experience is a plus.

Additional welding responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.

• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.

• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments

• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.

What Do We Want to Know About You?

We're looking for candidates who possess:

• High school degree or equivalent.

• 3-5+ years of experience in a custom build shop preferred.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints along with 3D prints/schematic

• Physically able to lift 50 pounds – inclusive of walking/climbing stairs

• Comfortable working in smaller/enclosed spaces within the ship

Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
