Job Summary
Manages the day to day operational activities of the medical assistant teams for East Ann Arbor Health Center and Geriatrics Health Center. The Allied Health Supervisor will support ensuring compliance with regulatory and licensing agencies. Develops or modifies operational practices, consistent with established standards. Recommends the procurement and applicability of new equipment and supplies. Plans and conducts in-service training programs for students, trainees, and new staff members. Assures compliance with affirmative action and safety programs. The Allied Health Supervisor of developing, evaluating and coordinate the medical assistant workflow while providing excellent customer service patients who are seen in the clinic. The Allied Health Supervisor will work in partnership with the Administrative Managers supporting the ACUs outlined above.

Responsibilities*
The Allied Health Supervisor role will be responsible to coordinate the medical assistant schedules, solidify the medical assistant competency framework in partnership with preceptors in the ACUs they have oversight for, and implement best practice regulatory readiness preparedness. The role will have oversight of medical assistant orientation, ongoing competencies, and accountability as directed by and in partnership with ACU triads. Management duties include interviewing, recommending and training of employees; setting and adjusting their hours of work; planning and directing their work; appraising their productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in their status; handling their complaints and grievances. The supervisor will spend time performing many of the same duties as subordinate employees when there is a need due to staffing challenges.
Required Qualifications*
+ High School diploma or GED
+ Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of experience.
+ Experience working as a team lead with ability to maintain effective, courteous working relations with staff, providers and patients.
+ Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
+ Ability to travel to separate ACUs.
Desired Qualifications*
+ Certification as a Medical Assistant.
+ Primary Care Experience is preferred.
+ Experience working within a large, complex setting.
