Airport Maintenance Technician 1 (AMT 1) - Roanoke Regional Airport Commission

What You'll Do:
As an Airport Maintenance Technician, you'll tackle a variety of important tasks that keep our airport running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

• Grounds Maintenance: Mowing, landscaping, planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and maintaining fences.
• Paved Areas: Sweeping, repairing, and ensuring the safety of all paved surfaces.
• Equipment Operation: Operating, fueling, and cleaning trucks, tractors, and other powered tools.
• Building Repairs: Plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry, and other facility maintenance tasks.
• Airfield Systems: Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and lighting systems, as well as security gates and passenger loading bridges.
• Weather Response: Removing snow and ice during winter conditions.

This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, including a rotating schedule that may involve weekends, holidays, and night shifts.

What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A High School diploma or equivalent.
• A valid Virginia driver's license (or ability to obtain one within 30 days) and a clean driving record.
• The ability to pass a TSA security clearance and drug test.
• Preferred: Experience operating equipment and basic knowledge of electrical or plumbing systems.
