Role Summary
The Airport Design & Construction Project Manager is responsible for the design, construction, and facilities management for Alaska Air Group (AAG). This role supports complex Airport Real Estate construction management activities and initiatives for AAG and its subsidiaries by coordinating between internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties
+ With limited direction, manage regional projects to design, develop, and implement new and updated physical facilities, incorporating appropriate process improvement principles.
+ Facilitate project execution and ensure the project follows established company project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
+ Solicit facilities build-out and maintenance support work from contractors and other vendors, assuring compliance with company standards.
+ Partner with Architectural & Engineering teams, and related construction service providers, to ensure airline’s brand-driven design principles are fully incorporated into new and remodeled space.
+ Work with sponsor(s) and other stakeholders to define the objectives, scope, and project deliverables.
+ Manage project schedule and progress to ensure projects fulfill the objectives of the charter and are completed on time and within budget.
+ Manage costs by providing variance analysis and recommendations to remain within budget.
+ Partner with internal finance teams to ensure effective cost and variance reporting.
+ Organize meetings with various work teams to collect and disseminate project information, plan and schedule tasks and resources, generate timelines, and structure a process for consensus and individual commitment for deliverables.
+ Anticipate and monitor for issues while working with stakeholders to resolve active issues in a dynamic and evolving environment.
+ Identify and escalate unresolved problems or possible timeline issues, along with recommended actions for correction.
+ Identify opportunities to expedite project delivery, reduce cost, and/or enhance business results.
+ Oversee performance of all contractors and reviews architectural and engineering drawings to ensure that all requirements are met.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
+ 2 years of field experience in the building/construction industry in a project, construction management role or related area.
+ Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
+ Ability & willingness to travel as required in support of this role.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum age of 18
+ Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
+ 1-3 years of team management, with progressive responsibilities, for construction projects of increasing complexity.
+ Detailed oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company.
+ Experience facilitating the creation of project metrics by establishing a method for tracking.
+ Experience in aviation industry (i.e., airline, airport).
+ Knowledge/understanding of the capital budgeting process and basic financial principles.
Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Review theSIDA Badge Requirementsdocument for a comprehensive overview. If an employee does not qualify for a SIDA badge or has their SIDA badge pulled from them, the employee will be terminated.

Salary Range
$81,800 -- $122,700 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
