JOB TITLE:
AIRFIELD OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure the safe takeoff and landing of aircraft. Duties include coordination between air traffic control and maintenance personnel, dispatching, using airfield landing and navigational aids, implementing airfield safety procedures, monitoring and maintaining flight records, and applying knowledge of weather information.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect facilities, equipment, or supplies to ensure conformance to standards.
- Plan flight operations.
- Assist others during emergencies.
- Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with security or safety regulations.
- Inspect work sites to identify potential environmental or safety hazards.
- Confer with coworkers to coordinate maintenance or cleaning activities.
- Coordinate operational activities.
- Maintain facilities.
- Remove snow.
- Communicate with others to coordinate vehicle movement.
- Coordinate flight control or management activities.
- Plan work operations.
- Monitor vehicle movement or location.
- Train transportation or material moving personnel.
- Record operational details of travel.
- Meet with coworkers to communicate work orders or plans.
- Review work orders or schedules to determine operations or procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have at least one (1) year of recent (within the past four (4) years) experience in managing personnel responsible for airfield base operation and operation of aircraft services.
- Must have a valid state driver's license to obtain a US government-issued airfield driver's license.
- Aircraft Service personnel and CM/ACM must have a Class B Commercial Driver's License, with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Airbrake endorsements.
- Experience on flight line, ground handling, or aircraft operations.
- All employees are subject to drug testing without notice by the government per the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Reading, understanding, and discussing safety and environmental warnings are an integral part of all employee's duties.
- Active DoD clearance
EDUCATION:
- High School/equivalent or higher.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least one (1) year of recent (within the past four (4) years) experience in managing personnel responsible for airfield base operation and operation of aircraft services.
- Experience on flight line, ground handling, or aircraft operations.
- Experience with CDL class B driving Tanker, Hazmat, and using Airbrakes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PMP certification
- Active DoD clearance
