Air Import Agent - JFK - Ceva Logistics

YOUR ROLE

Are you known for Logistics skills? Are you passionate about Import? If so, we have an opportunity that would allow you to work as an Air Import Agent, ensuring movement of our customers import shipments. You will be the main point of contact for coordination between customers shipment imports, customs brokers, and shipping carriers.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

• Plan and direct flow of air/ocean traffic moving to overseas destinations.
• Ship freight, prepares documentation and way-billing, assesses charges, and collects fee for shipments.
• Negotiates with domestic customers, as intermediary for foreign customers, to resolve problems and arrive at mutual agreements.
• Examine invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
• Prepares reports of transactions to facilitate billing of shippers and foreign customers.
• Corresponds with foreign network.
• Is responsible for moving shipments on time.
• Correct EFO's if requested by the supervisor.
• Assist Air Import Manager in implementing and obtaining organization polices and goals of the department.
• Provides for transportation of exported goods from port to final destination.

Requirements

• Two-Three years related experience and/or training. Advanced education a plus.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to clients
• Excellent organization skills and be a proactive problem solver.
• Ability to manage own time and priorities workload to meet internal and external expectations.
• Must be proficient in all arears of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Good interpersonal and teamworking skills required.
• 1-2 years of Cargo Wise experience.
