Air Freight Coordinator Job Summary
The Air Freight Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of air freight shipments for export, along with supporting general office operations as needed. The role involves handling inventory control, documentation preparation, client communication, and ensuring smooth logistical operations for air freight services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventory Control and Export Coordination
- Oversee the inventory and coordinate air freight shipments for export.
- Documentation Preparation
- Prepare necessary documents for U.S. Customs to ensure timely and compliant shipping.
- Client Communication
- Respond to phone, email, or faxed requests from clients, agents, or sales representatives regarding rate inquiries and bookings.
- Quotes and Bookings
- Handle quotations and bookings for consignee routed cargo as requested by agents or U.S. shippers.
- Coordination of Pickups
- Arrange for pickups and provide timely quotes for inland transportation and airfreight costs from available systems.
- Cargo Handling
- Obtain estimated costs for special cargo, including oversize, dangerous goods, and perishables.
- Follow-Up on Cargo
- Monitor cargo arrival and coordinate any pending inland transportation arrangements.
- Service Assistance
- Assist with any service requests from customers or agents, following up on any issues or special requests as required by management in the Air Freight Department.

Qualifications:
- Language Skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Industry Experience
- Previous experience in air freight, logistics, or a related industry 2 to 3 years.
- Knowledge
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry documentation, and effectively present information to groups.
- Communication Skills
- Capable of presenting clear and persuasive information, addressing questions, and listening attentively to clarify any issues.
- Technical Skills
- Proficient with logistics and air freight systems, capable of managing booking and cost estimation processes effectively.
