The Opportunity
The Air Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and maintaining accurate records related to air quality and safety. This role involves a blend of administrative duties and hands-on tasks, including inspections and compliance checks. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding environmental standards.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance by adhering to regulations, standards, and internal policies, while promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
- Conduct inspections daily to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Perform Marport, AO (Air Quality), and other environmental inspections for the facility such as RCRA and stormwater.
- Retrieve and manage requested records for facility inspectors including IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management) as needed.
- Conduct satellite accumulation checks multiple times per week.
- Input spill reports into the system promptly.
- Assist with environmental trainings for plant personnel.
- Assist operations team with spill clean ups or other environmental incidents as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred; or equivalent in work-related experience
- Previous air monitoring experience preferred but not required
- Familiarity with SAP, Latitude, and other relevant systems
- Must successfully complete HAZWOPER training
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas as it relates to environmental compliance
- Must obtain a physician certification to wear a respirator
- Willingness to work holidays if needed
