The Opportunity

The Air Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and maintaining accurate records related to air quality and safety. This role involves a blend of administrative duties and hands-on tasks, including inspections and compliance checks. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding environmental standards.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance by adhering to regulations, standards, and internal policies, while promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
• Conduct inspections daily to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Perform Marport, AO (Air Quality), and other environmental inspections for the facility such as RCRA and stormwater.
• Retrieve and manage requested records for facility inspectors including IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management) as needed.
• Conduct satellite accumulation checks multiple times per week.
• Input spill reports into the system promptly.
• Assist with environmental trainings for plant personnel.
• Assist operations team with spill clean ups or other environmental incidents as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred; or equivalent in work-related experience
• Previous air monitoring experience preferred but not required
• Familiarity with SAP, Latitude, and other relevant systems
• Must successfully complete HAZWOPER training
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas as it relates to environmental compliance
• Must obtain a physician certification to wear a respirator
• Willingness to work holidays if needed
