Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The co-op will be involved in design, development, testing and fabrication of silicon photonic integrated circuit (PIC) devices and/or systems. The student will be working with sophisticated state of the art design, fabrication, and testing equipment. The co-op will be responsible for various aspects of PIC development projects as assigned by members of the AIM Photonics engineering team which may include operating fabrication and/or testing equipment. The co-op shall perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. The co-op will be responsible for maintaining adequate project documentation and preparing necessary reports and materials as required for internal or external presentation.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting AIM Photonics engineering and technical activities including numerical modeling of integrated photonic test structures.
- Measurement and testing of integrated photonic test structures
- Support and participation in design and fabrication activities related to integrated photonics
- Support of laboratory/fabrication/testing equipment and/or other activities relating to integrated photonics Research, education and workforce training.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate majoring in engineering degree including chemical, materials or mechanical engineering.
- Must be interested in hands-on developing/testing of devices and operating precision equipment.
- Available full-time on-site for a minimum of 16 weeks continuously to work as intern or co-op.
- Able to work legally in US.
- This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check.

Salary Range: $25/ hr
