JOB SUMMARY:
The Agronomy Sales Rep position will maintain and grow sales with current and prospective customers in a profitable manner as directed. Will also be expected to complete all other duties as assigned by the supervisor while displaying EDGE Ag Solutions Core values and to fulfill our purpose of assisting our customers in achieving maximum return per acre.
JOB DUTIES:
- Grower sales calls, service calls, input pricing, sound agronomic recommendations, accounts receivable management, and all other associated administrative tasks.
- Schedule time of application, make maps, and check field and weather conditions.
- Potential part-time tending to aid customer applicators.
- Increase seed presence/focus with customers and prospects.
SHARED ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain all logbooks, timesheets, CDL license, medical cards, and other paperwork DOT requires.
- Maintain vehicle and delivery equipment to DOT Standards
- Notify Operations/Maintenance of any repairs needed to maintain equipment.
- Operate forklifts, scales, pumps, and all other equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Load/unload deliveries/shipments.
- Manage bulk and package chemicals, NH3, dry and liquid fertilizer.
- Keep acceptable quantities of inventory on hand.
- Deliver products to customers.
- Use teamwork in deliveries (check with other staff to see if deliveries can be combined).
- Maintain all aspects of equipment and facilities to that they are in excellent working condition for their respective seasons. Such equipment may include but is not limited to all trailers, dry fertilizer equipment, bulk chemical facilities, tending and application equipment, warehouse, office, grounds, vehicles, and all other equipment.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of application equipment, precision placement equipment and application procedures of products.
- Possess general mechanical knowledge.
- General knowledge of sales and management skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class A CDL with tanker and Hazmat endorsement.
- Ability to adapt to different work environments.
- Ability to demonstrate a team player attitude.
- Ability to work long hours during peak periods.
- Demonstrate basic math skills.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- A high school degree or GED and basic knowledge of operations involved in production agriculture.
