Internship opportunities in Research & Development - WinField United Innovation Center (River Falls, WI):
- Expand your understanding of the process to research seed, crop protection products, spray additives, and plant nutrition innovations. Role will include experiences in research testing methods, data collection as required for developing to new products and processes. These roles allow you to work outside with field plot research, and some lab work to develop insights to assist continued research-backed innovation to our product portfolio.
- Skills to be learned during the internship :
o Interns would be exposed to the full strength of Winfield United's Product development team housed at the Innovation Center in River Falls WI.
o Their experience would focus on key product development projects that are currently in our development pipeline.
o Students would have access to 10+ Ph.D scientist's located at the Innovation Center, ranging in professional expertise from Chemistry, Soil Health, Crop Protection Field Biology, Controlled Environments, Engineering and more.
o Students would assist in running experiments, collecting, and interpreting data, creating marketing materials, presenting and public speaking, field research execution and trial design, and more.
o Students would be paired with a Winfield United staff member to help craft their experience and focus on their career development throughout their internship duration.
- Internship Location: The WinField United Innovation Center, located in River Falls, WI
- Internship Duration: Spring Semester- Late January - Early May
- Hours: 20 hours per week
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a current UW-River Falls undergraduate student
- Sophomore level and above (preferred) in collegiate career
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in agriculture business, agriculture marketing, agriculture communications, agronomy, or other related field of study
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to work extended hours during peak busy seasons and willing to work outside in summer temperatures and weather variability.
- Attentive to detail and able to work without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication, writing and critical thinking skills.
- Manage time and effectively prioritize and implement projects and general work tasks.
- Give and receive feedback, work collaboratively, exhibit effective social and interpersonal skills.
- Resourceful and innovative in finding solutions to problems.
- Flexible and can adapt to changing business surroundings.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to adhere to strict safety standards when handling crop protection products in lab and field settings, if applicable
- Properly wear chemical application equipment and personal protective equipment while working as required by job duties.
