About the Job
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the agricultural department to align agricultural curriculum
- Provide instruction in agriculture education in classroom, laboratory, and field trips
- Maintains a safe, organized classroom environment with effective classroom management
- Ordering equipment and supplies for program
- Emphasize the importance of safety in the agricultural workforce
- Manage and maintain Agricultural facilities and equipment: Greenhouse, Hydroponics and other agricultural facilities and equipment
- Serve as a chapter FFA Co-advisor
- Prepare and train students in career and leadership skills and teams and preparing for competitions and awards
- Establish working relationships with local businesses
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid AR teaching license
- Clean background check
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant technology
Physical requirements
- Be able to stand for the majority of the school day in order to effectively monitor and supervise students
- Be able to walk short distances to supervise students between classrooms and activities
- Be able to sit, stand, lean, reach, bend, lift and squat to assist students as needed
- Be able to walk on uneven surfaces (playground)
- Be able to walk up and down stairs
- Be outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty (recess, before school drop offs, after school pick- ups and field trips)
