Pay Range: 40 - 45/hr, W 2
What is the target for the total number of years work needed for this person? (If no experience at any one employer can be less than 3 years, how many years of work experience is needed?) RESPONSE FROM HM: Combined minimum 5 - 7 years of experience
1 - 3 years of experience working with contracts; preferably power contracts (Is contract management experience necessary if they do not want any RFP or negotiation experience?) RESPONSE FROM HM: Contract management experience / program management experience is needed. We do not do any RFP or negotiation, so no need for those skill sets. Someone who can manage taking a contract from kickoff to issuing a purchase order
Background in accounting or finance Must have experience in forecasting and budgeting (Is the client open to any accounting/finance experience? How much experience is necessary?) RESPONSE FROM HM: Some experience in finance to be able to understand the core concepts
Project management experience (What level of project management experience is needed? Is this more of a PM role than an analyst role? Are they open to project coordinators who manage workstreams and projects that can check off the timeline task list?) RESPONSE FROM HM: It is a combo role of PM / Analyst. Need to manage multiple contracts at different stages of approval process, and also have the ability to complete all the tasks in the different technical tools (Ariba, SAP and Atrium)
How much analytical experience is needed? Are they open to any exposure, such as a Business Analyst or Project Analyst? RESPONSE FROM HM: Yes, business analyst experience is OK

We kick off contract renewal, rationalize contract, document changes, engage sourcing and VAR s, then strategic contract review and IT saw and then manage and issue the contract.
Looking for someone who has project management experience. Can keep track of all the workflows and phases. Looking for someone who is assertive.
Use Ariba, Atrium and SAP. Depending on the contract. Tools are not dealbreaker. We can teach.
Someone who understands finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting.
Will report in Oakland or San Ramon in a hybrid setting.
Shift: 40 hours per week. 2 3 days in office. Day shift. 8 5.

Energy industry knowledge; understanding of energy & utility terms
BS/BA degree, or equivalent work experience
Description:
Responding to client inquiries regarding contract specifics; and producing or updating software tools, which deal with contract information.
Conduct thorough independent review of power contracts and related documents, identifying critical information or patterns.
Producing detailed Contract Summaries and Scheduling/Dispatch protocols; identifying potential contractual issues and solutions; investigating contract questions/issues raised by clients; or performing complex numerical analyses relative to power contracts' capacity and energy costs.
Monitor contracts' compliance with contract and other applicable regulatory and legal requirements, and report on performance to internal parties at client, and regulatory agencies such as the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and California Energy Commission, as required.
Work with counterparties as their existing contracts are modified, extended or transitioned to new contracts by client negotiators.
Inform them about the options available to them for continuing to sell their energy to client. Support client negotiators to develop and sign new contracts.
Represent company in, participate and/or monitor regulatory proceedings at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the CPUC, as necessary, including the CPUC proceeding where client's power contracts' contract administration is reviewed for compliance (the Energy Resource Recovery Account (ERRA) Compliance Review) and other proceedings as they affect contract administration.
Constantly look for ways to improve the Contract Management process, whether to make it more cost-effective, easier, or more thorough. Examples of such work have included automation of reports, process simplification and documentation and creation of a contract database.
Provide back-up support for other members of the Contract Management section to ensure smooth operation of team. Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge of California energy market
Understanding of CPUC and FERC regulatory framework
High level of organization
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Familiarity with Enviance milestone tracking system
Familiarity with FileNet electronic document storage system
