The Scrum Master is a servant leader responsible for coaching the Scrum team to make progress, learn, and function at the highest level, which includes removing impediments to progress, facilitating meetings, and working with product owners to ensure product backlog is well-refined and ready for the next sprint, and acting as a buffer between the team and any distracting influences. This requires a good understanding of the Scrum framework and the ability to train others on it.
Sprint Planning & Facilitation
- Maintain and validate scope, schedules and deliverables for team stories; adhere to established metrics, and apply standards.
- Collaborate with product owners to maintain a prioritized backlog and facilitate Agile/Scaled Agile release planning sessions
- Coach product owners and agile teams so that they become empowered and self-organized adopters of our agile SDLC
- Foster conversations/communications
- Enforce team ground rules and cultural norms
- Facilitate and ensure adoption of all Agile ceremonies and practices on a day-to-day basis for multiple scrum teams
- Proactively identify and implement changes to help our teams continuously improve adoption and effectiveness of Agile ceremonies and practices
- Lead efforts to develop and maintain standards and best practices within the Agile framework
- Collaborate across the organizational boundaries to increase the effectiveness of Agile
- Implementing innovative solutions to manage program and project expectations with both technology and business leaders
- Provide status reports; communicate accomplishments, issues, and risks to product stakeholders
- Facilitate Sprint Retrospectives; Capture info and summarize as sprint planning input
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban.
- Strong understanding of agile development processes and procedures;
- Experience managing projects that involve technical complexity
- Expertise in Agile Methodology practices :utilizing the Scrum guide, scaled agile frameworks, ceremonies, transparency practices, and agile management techniques to drive business impact.
- Experiencing developing and implementing strategies to adopt Agile Methodology, such as utilizing the Kanban Method and Agile Manifesto and adjusting plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Strong knowledge of how to navigate the enterprise and work with other teams
- Deep knowledge of the features and functionality of the team product/application
- Ability to exert influence across organizational boundaries without direct authority
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personality types.
- Ability to understand and explain technical issues and work to a resolution with impacted parties.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and facilitation skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolutions skills, collaborative approach to driving results and achieving intended outcomes
- Being comfortable working under pressure and dealing with ambiguity
