Overview:
This position is responsible for leading strategic partnerships with current and potential customers in order to develop and expand the Company's business. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and proven track record in fertilizer sales and business development.
The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $225,000 with additional earning potential. The Company offers insurance coverage that includes medical, dental, vision as well as 401(k) with employer match.
Responsibilities:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability necessary to perform this job successfully:
- Responsible for interacting with the Ag Inputs supply chain for liquid fertilizers, dry fertilizers, and soil amendment products
- Promote the Company’s strategic vision and the benefits of it to selected companies in the marketplace.
- Responsible for identifying business opportunities with colocation in Hanford via product supply agreements and strategic investment.
- Maximize available land resources for current and future business needs.
- Network with the industry to stay abreast of market activity and opportunities as they arise.
- Prepare and present proposals to potential customers and investors.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure business deals.
- Maintain understanding of industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required.
- Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years’ of related experience.
- Knowledge of the local geography is highly preferred.
- Established and active network with high level decision makers in the fertilizer supply chain industry.
- Background with negotiating long-term contracts with customers and investors.
- Background with the grant or funding programs that could be available to support capital investments.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact positively with customers - excellent interpersonal skills between both customers and fellow employees.
- Knowledge of agricultural production and practices (beneficial).
- Established and active network with the fertilizer supply chain – preferably networked in with the executives at the companies
- Specific knowledge and understanding of the product application for liquid and dry fertilizers
- Negotiating long-term significant contracts
- Aware of various grant or funding programs that could be available to support capital investments
- Understanding of product combination possibilities for mixing and blending products
- Regularly bend and lift boxes and bags up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly lift 50lbs multiple times throughout the day.
- Ability to travel by vehicle or commercial transportation to other branches, meeting locations, and customer locations / farms.
