Aftertreatment Performance Analysis Engineer
Waterloo, Iowa - Full Time
Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at John Deere's facility in Waterloo, Iowa. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will plan, coordinate, perform product design, testing and/or analysis work for a complete project of moderate scope or for a significant portion or a sub-system of a major and diverse project. Operate in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel. Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors.
This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.
Duties:
- Develop and validate 1D chemical kinetic models for relevant aftertreatment components such as Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), Ammonia Oxidation Catalyst (AOC), DOC catalyzed DPF (DOCF), etc.
- Initiate, plan, coordinate and perform analysis projects using 1D aftertreatment models and other supporting models to investigate current and future emissions reduction techniques.
- Maintain an understanding of aftertreatment devices and emission reduction strategies for diesel and alternative fuel engines.
- Provide well thought out documentation on analysis process, results, and setup procedures, ensure consistent and high-quality models to support deployment
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 1 or more years of experience working with aftertreatment and/or engine system components.
- 1 or more years of experience in engineering analysis.
- Fundamental understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, chemistry reaction and computer programming.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in 1D aftertreatment component and system modeling.
- Industrial experience in heavy duty diesel engines, emissions, and aftertreatment.
- Knowledge of GT-Suite and Simulink.
- Experience in engine performance development, testing and simulation.
