After School Program Coordinator - New Community Corporation

New Community Corporation in Newark, New Jersey is one of the largest and most comprehensive community development agencies in the country; New Communitys success rests on its comprehensive approach to community development. Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning and maintaining of a safe and healthy learning environment for program participants.
• Supervise counselors and provide learning tools for promoting a positive environment
• Utilize positive strategies to support the social and emotional development of all students.
• Assist and monitor students and staff during program hours.
• Maintain accurate and up to date student and after school program records.
• Attend staff training and meetings as needed.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Director of Youth Services and Director of Missions.
• Additional responsibilities as directed by supervisor(s)

• Bachelors Degree in education or related field.
• NJ Teacher Certificate
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
• Adheres to the Mission and maintains high standards
• Adheres to policies and procedures of New Community Corporation and Affiliates
• Preserves the confidentiality of files and other information
• Results driven, self- starter with high attention to detail and sense of urgency. Must also be highly customer- oriented.
• Demonstrates respect, cooperation, consideration and tact in dealing with peers, supervisors and others
• The employee will cooperate with the agency, licensee and the applicable State department or division licensing unit with any legally mandated inspections or investigations
