Pay Range: $28-$32/hour

The Job: Do you love working with kids and have supervisory experience? If so, this might be the role for you! As the After-school Program Assistant Director, you will assist the Club J Director by being responsible for the operations, supervision and program management of the OFJCC’s after-school program for children in grades K-6.

The Core Duties:
- Collaborate with the Club J Director to develop, execute, and evaluate engaging Club J programs that align with the preferences and requirements of our Club J students.
- Support the leadership team, consisting of the Program Coordinator, Family Engagement Coordinator, Head Teacher, and Jewish Values Specialist, by aiding them in the successful execution of their unique roles and duties.
- Supervise the daily operations of the Club J afterschool program, maintaining smooth procedures and ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
- Take a leadership role to motivate, guide, and cultivate staff members, and align their efforts with the OFJCC’s mission.
- Ensure adherence to Community Care Licensing Regulations, maintaining compliance and up-to-date accreditation status.
- Handle parental inquiries and concerns with efficiency and professionalism, escalating matters as needed to the Club J Director.
The Essentials:
- Associate Degree or higher in Education, Early Childhood or Recreation Management preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in youth teaching and program development
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- 15 semester units in ECE or Child Development or alternate classes accepted by Community Care Licensing, at an accredited or approved college or university, including 3 semester units in administration or staff relations of child development program
- 15 hours of health and safety training; Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certified
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate information clearly (written and oral).
- Ability and desire to work independently and as a team member with the community and other employees
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities when required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of social networking technologies
- Ability to work nights and weekends when needed
- Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working in a non-profit environment
