We provide systems engineering and skilled technicians to make our clients’ unique projects a reality. We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Aerospace Technician I to join our team. If you are a hands-on, resourceful individual with a passion for aerospace technology and a desire to contribute to groundbreaking projects, this role is for you. A Day in the Life: The technician’s primarily role is to manufacture quality products efficiently, accurately, safely and on time. Techs use thin films, composites, and inspection equipment to develop, assemble, and test novel aerospace products. Key Responsibilities:
Assembly: • Assemble development and flight articles in accordance with detailed work instructions, drawings, procedures, and quality assurance (QA). • Perform repetitive assembly tasks with consistency, quality, and efficiency. • Communicate effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality Assurance Research and Development: • Work directly with Engineering to develop and document new concepts and inventions. • Test material characteristics • Develop Fixtures and Test Support Equipment • Assist with Acceptance and Qualification testing. Safety: • Perform work in a safe manner. • Follow safety guidelines. Comply with Safety Data Sheets (SDS). • Clean and organize work environments. Frequently used equipment: • Blades • Heater controllers • Vacuum bags • Pressure Gauges • Thermocouples. • Tensometer • Thermal Chambers and Ovens Who You Are: • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools, handheld power tools, and shop equipment such as a drill press, band saw, bench grinders, etc. • Experience as an aerospace or R&D technician or similar field a plus. • Experience with material lay-up fabrication & mechanical assembly • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in standard business software. • Fluent in written and spoken English. • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Open to feedback and ongoing improvement. • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. • Attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions precisely. • The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. • Security Clearance a plus. • Skill with thin films and fabrics, such as Kapton and carbon fiber, is highly desirable.
