The Director for the Advanced Engineering Group will play a key role in directing and managing the new model function, overseeing coordination, testing, die development, and equipment/cell development and installation. This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.
Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Director for the Advanced Engineering Group:
- Provide direct and effective management of overall AEG operations, including guiding, mentoring, and training team members for their professional growth and success.
- Collaborate to develop new model project plans and contribute insights on new technology and line layouts.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as R&D, production, and quality assurance to develop and implement new models and processes.
- Manage the AEG budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control.
- Oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiencies.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Foster improved departmental morale through enhanced communication, follow-up, and a results-oriented team approach.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment for improving manufacturing processes and reducing costs.
- Provide technical support to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field.
- 10+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Japanese suppliers.
- Metal stamping, weld experience.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving goals and objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes including assembly methods, machining, fabrication, and automation.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
