Advisory Technical Fellow
The Advisory Technical Fellow possesses extensive knowledge of engineering analysis theory and practice in one or more the following areas:
- Actuator component, assembly, and system design
- Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Multi-body dynamics
- System simulation
- Mechanism design
This person regularly applies their knowledge to unique and complex problems. Many of these problems will be undefined and require extensive investigation, research, experience, and testing to understand root causes and determine engineering solutions. The Advisory Technical Fellow will create and lead cross-functional teams as needed to develop innovative solutions from concept to completion, including customer deployment. The person in the role will also recommend, develop, and implement new products, processes, operating plans, and standards that impact project results, improve upon existing practices, and align with internal and external objectives. The Advisory Technical Fellow directly contributes to the functional strategies and operational goals at an enterprise level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Shape the service and technical roadmap for the company, delineating technology goals and the building blocks necessary for achieving them in the following areas:
- Mentor, oversee, and/or manage engineers to grow our internal capabilities as required
- Utilize market intelligence and competitive analysis to ideate, justify, develop, and deliver technical solutions for customer and revenue growth
- Partner cross-functionally to curate customer-focused bid proposals and presentations.
- Engage directly with customers during engineering evaluations, regulatory checks, and business expansion endeavors.
- Perform engineering analysis project work. Typical applications include launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, and electromechanical systems.
- Write proposals, technical reports and papers.
- Lead IR&D and sponsored research (e.g., SBIR/STTR)
- Provide results to clients that satisfy quality, cost, timing, and other project specifications.
- Write journal articles and give oral presentations to clients and at technical conferences.
- Champion process refinement, integrating feedback, and leveraging insights for organizational growth and continual betterment.
- Serve as a catalyst for change, exemplifying a culture of accountability, teamwork, and urgency.
Requirements:
- M.S., or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related disciplines with excellent academic record.
- Minimum 15 years experience in senior engineering roles
- Minimum 4 years experience leading technical teams
- Depth of knowledge in the identified areas
- Experience with Simcenter, Nastran, NX, FEMAP, MATLAB, Python, Abaqus, Ansys, Wave6, VA One, or other CAE tools preferred.
- Track record of technical publications and presentations at technical conferences
- Willingness to travel and work at client sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidate must have US citizenship and be eligible to access ITAR data.
