About the Job
Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director of Development and working closely with the senior advancement team, directly manages the fundraising database (Blackbaud Raisers Edge NXT), additional integrated systems (Blackbaud Merchant Services, ReceipterPro, and others), and related business processes including gift processing and receipting, prospect research and fundraising reporting for Homeboy Industries. The position develops strategies for maximizing the software’s capabilities, provides proactive support for the fundraising team, and establishes and maintains best practices for donor information management and the administrative functions of the Homeboy Industries Advancement Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Advanced skills and deep knowledge of donor database software (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred) and creating reports with Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with best practices regarding the receipt and management of gifts and stewardship processes. Exceptional attention to detail. Creative thinker who can advise a team on how data can best meet their needs to maximize efficiency and revenue. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to adhere to deadlines and follow up promptly to requests. Ability to problem solve creatively and effectively.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree, 3 to 5 years of experience in database management; minimum 2 years supervisory experience. Knowledge of non-profit fundraising management, strategies, operations and procedures desired. Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred. Familiarity with Homeboy Industries a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create required data imports, exports and lists related to all fundraising areas: individual and major giving, corporate giving, institutional giving and special events.
- Work proactively to develop reports that meet the needs of the Advancement Department. Pull monthly, quarterly and annual reports, create dashboards, complete event and appeal performance analysis and compile mail/email and donor recognition lists.
- Serve as liaison between the Advancement and Finance Department staff. Reconcile gifts between Raiser’s Edge and QuickBooks and ensure accurate and comprehensive data flow between the departments.
- Track and analyze department expenses and revenue projections.
- Work closely with the fundraising team, the stewardship team and the Marketing and Communications team to track and manage donor recognition processes, including maintaining and proofing donor lists, annual report data and data needed for other publications and communications.
- Manage donor information systems and data hygiene: monitor and complete updates to constituent records to ensure accuracy. Oversee all database cleanup and maintain overall database integrity.
- Manage donation processing services and online donation pages for online events and contributions.
- Maintain Advancement Operations procedure manual; consistently review and evaluate all data processes to ensure the most effective and efficient procedures are in place.
- Provide training for users within the organization to ensure competency and maintain data integrity.
- Supervise and manage the Development Operations team, including overseeing the gift entry workload and associated processes to ensure gifts are entered correctly and acknowledgment/receipt letters are timely and accurately produced.
- Provide general support to the Advancement Department leadership and staff as needed.
