Advancement Manager Overview
Under the leadership of the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Manager plays a vital role in Melmark's fundraising initiatives. This position focuses on managing special events, including the annual golf tournament, bi-annual gala, and other third-party fundraisers, while supporting the Annual Giving program. The Manager will cultivate donor relationships, oversee event logistics, and contribute to marketing and communication strategies for advancement efforts. This role provides an exciting opportunity to enhance Melmark’s mission through impactful donor engagement and programmatic support.
Advancement Manager Schedule and Salary Information
• Full-time, Monday – Friday (with occasional evenings and weekends as required)
• Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications
Advancement Manager Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Three years of fundraising experience, including direct special events management
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and OneCause preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Experience in nonprofit human services or education settings is preferred
Advancement Manager Responsibilities
• Plan and execute special events, including logistics, sponsorships, marketing, and post-event evaluations
• Manage online event platforms and update web pages as needed
• Develop and implement annual giving appeals, including direct mail campaigns and donor communications
• Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and event attendees
• Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to enhance event visibility and donor engagement
• Assist in the recruitment and management of event committees and volunteers
• Ensure compliance with contracts and organizational policies for all events
• Provide administrative and programmatic support to advancement initiatives across Melmark divisions
• Research innovative fundraising trends and strategies to enhance event quality and cost-effectiveness
