Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. As an Advanced Systems Administration Specialist, you’ll serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues by conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. Your duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training users. You’ll also be responsible for the day-to-day support of server services by performing server administration for physical and virtual server operating systems and configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardware and network related interfaces on servers. And, you’ll perform OS and vendor software patching on servers and monitor physical and virtual servers performance using monitoring tools.

- Solid understanding of server based operating systems
- Security+ Certification is required

Duties and Tasks:
• Responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
• Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems
• Serves as a front-line interface to users with technical issues
• Makes recommendations for hardware and software purchases
• Interacts with third-party technology vendors and internal database staff
• Conducts systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies
• Duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training users
• The Server System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day support of Server services
• Performs Server administration for Server Operating Systems
• Performs administration of physical and virtualized servers
• Responsible for the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardware
• Configures, maintains and troubleshoots network related interfaces on servers
• Performs OS and vendor software patching on servers
• Monitors Physical and Virtual Servers performance using monitoring tools
• Performs troubleshoots and does analysis of alerts on Servers
• Run scripts and tools to automate repetitive processes and provides inputs for improvements
• Provides input and follows a Disaster Recovery Plan for Physical and Virtual Servers
• Executes Security Compliancy processes and policies
• Executes plans, designs, and implements configurations to ensure compliance with back-up/disaster recovery policies & procedures
• Supports Server related standards, policies, and procedures
• Troubleshoots Server technical issues and communicates status to Server team and stakeholders
• Develops and executes tests based on test plans for assigned tasks
