Advanced Practice Provider NP PA - Pediatric Cardiac Surgery - Ascension

• Specialty: Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery
• Schedule: TBA - Monday-Friday, full time, day-shift  
• Call Schedule: TBA - Weekend rounding on inpatients in rotation with team members, on-call on rotating schedule
• Practice Detail: Inpatient at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital. Outpatient in office building
• EMR System: Altera SCM inpatient, Athena Outpatient
• Facility: Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery
• Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

• Participate in the care and medical decision making for preoperative, intra-operative, and postoperative patients at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent Indianapolis and the Children's Heart Center.
• Fulfill the role of surgical first assistant for pediatric congenital cardiac cases.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the cardiac care unit.  
• Order, perform, and interpret imaging, data, and labs.
• Perform procedures, such as temporary pacing wire and chest tube removal.
• Navigate and create records in the patient chart using the Sunrise Clinical Manager and AthenaHealth EMR systems.

Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent is part of Indiana’s largest not-for-profit health system with 22 ministries and over 3000 physicians.

• An attached tertiary care, pediatric hospital with 40 private inpatient beds and 8 short stay beds, staffed in-house 24/7 by our Pediatric Hospitalist group.
• A 23-bed PICU staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Intensivists.
• A 17-bed Pediatric Emergency department staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Emergency physicians.
• One of Indiana’s largest Level IV NICU with 97 beds staffed 24/7 by Neonatologists.


Through the Peyton Manning Children’s Health system at Ascension St. Vincent your family will get faster access to more than 100 highly experienced pediatric specialists. A majority of these physicians are double board certified in pediatrics and in one of 40 different pediatric specialties and multidisciplinary programs.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Nurse Practitioner specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
