What You Will Do:
Ascension-Wisconsin is looking for a WI Licensed/Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Advanced Practice Provider for our Mercy Hospital, Hospitalist Team. Master's degree of Nursing or a Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.

- Join a well-established Practice of Hospitalists and Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants. Our team of Hospitalists are experienced and maintain a strong team atmosphere.
- Our Bed Tower has state-of-the-art patient rooms with a full completment of sub-specialists on staff (Cardiology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Renal and Surgical Specialities).

Responsibilities:
- Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
- Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
- Work with a close-knit team that is experienced, and enjoys working in a strong team atmosphere
- Mercy Hospital is licensed for 157-beds with employed primary, specialty and subspecialty care clinicians; there are 12-ICU beds - has a very supportive nursing and administrative team
- Hospitalists have support from onsite services including Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Renal and Surgical Specialities
- Mercy Hospital has well-established tele-services of Infectious Disesas, Neurology and Critical Care
- Patients per day: 15-18 per team of Hospitalist and APNP support
- Committed to delivering high-quality, cost effective care to all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable, regardless of their ability to pay
- Strong 24/7 Hospitalist, Emergency Care and ICU services
- Certified stroke and chest pain center - Level III trauma center

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Minnesota Board of Nursing is also accepted. Licensure is dependent on state associate works in. Verified by local credentialing office.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Minnesota Board of Nursing OR current home state license, if considered multi-state/Compact State, also accepted. Licensure is dependent on state associate works in. Verified by local credentialing office.
- Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
Education:
- Master's degree of Nursing required.
