MVP Recovery is a premier outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility specializing in integrated care for individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Advanced Practice Provider either Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary team at MVP Recovery. The APP will be instrumental in providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic interventions for clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This role requires expertise in both addiction medicine and psychiatric care, as well as familiarity with Medication Assisted Treatments (MAT).
Key Responsibilities
Psychiatric Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of clients, including evaluations of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based practices.
Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications and Medication Assisted Treatments (MAT) for substance use disorders, such as buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone. Ensure safe and effective medication use through regular follow-ups and assessments.
Integrated Care: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including therapists, medical staff, and recovery specialists to provide integrated care. Coordinate treatment plans and interventions to address both mental health and substance use issues.
Client Education: Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, substance use disorders, treatment options, and strategies for managing and improving mental health and recovery.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of psychiatric evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and medication records. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
Crisis Intervention: Respond to psychiatric emergencies and crises, providing immediate support and intervention to stabilize clients and ensure their safety.
Advocacy and Support: Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system and assist in connecting them with additional resources and support services as required.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry or other relevant field.
Current unrestricted Pennsylvania state licensure as a PA or CRNP
Active DEA License
Experience in treating individuals with addiction and psychiatric disorders as a PA or CRNP
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
